In the 1980s, medical professionals reportedly advised my mother to terminate her pregnancy, with me, to begin chemotherapy for cancer. While her 1994 passing prevents a direct confirmation of this story, her well-documented convictions suggest the account is accurate. She was a prominent advocate for babies and pro-life choices in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, distributing literature outside of polling places to influence voter awareness. Her activism occurred during a period of shifting public consciousness; notably, data indicate that approximately 50 million abortions have been recorded in the United States since the 1980s (Guttmacher Institute, 2019).
The mission that my mother so admittedly believed in was so clear in the 1980s and 1990s, but today is increasingly more difficult to pursue as political corruption and lobbyist influence cloud the landscape between both major political parties. Furthermore, I believe the medical industry maintains a constant demand for fetal tissue to sustain its growth, which has bipartisan appeal; even though medical companies claim to rely on “immortalized cell lines” from the 1970s (Dunn, 2021; National Catholic Bioethics Center, n.d.). I would also state this, despite the fact that many well-known conservative politicians pretend to be against most abortions, they are often supported by medical companies and benefit from their lobbyists. In my opinion, an abortion is an abortion regardless of when it occurred. Each life carries value, Psalm 139:13–16 says:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb… Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
The reality of the medical industry and its associations with and need for abortions was brought into public view in 2015 by investigative journalist David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt. They posed as representatives of a medical research company, and recorded undercover videos with Planned Parenthood executives casually discussing the cost of fetal remains over lunch (Hwang, 2025). Though Daleiden spent several years in prison for his work, he remains a hero (to me) for exposing an industry that secretly uses murdered infants for financial gain.
The formal investigation that followed David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt’s video findings suggests that clinics receive reimbursements for aborted babies. It was astonishing to find that they only received approximately $30.00 to $100.00 per aborted baby in 2015. When compared to the lifelong emotional impact many mothers endure after an abortion, the fact that a child’s remains are only worth $100.00 or less is a staggering insult to the dignity of life. This finding also highlights the cold financials of the abortion industry. The average between $30.00 and $100.00 is $65.00. When you multiply $65.00 by 50 million, you get a staggering $3,250,000,000 dollars. That is a ton of money, and it makes sense why Planned Parenthood is protected by Hollywood. Of course, this is only an estimation. I would like to have the actual numbers here to present, but due to the lack of access to verified internal ledgers, any specific financial figure provided at this time remains purely a matter of informed speculation.

Nevertheless, whether one agrees or not, I believe the right to life is fundamental truth. I also believe that life begins at conception. Every human being has a right to live; which makes it even more terrible to see a baby’s life ended based on the speculation of a disability.
I recognize that this is a deeply sensitive topic. To be clear: I hold no judgment toward mothers who have made this choice. My criticism is directed at the abortion industry, the ‘big pharma,’ and Planned Parenthood, which preys on young women who are scared.
I recognize that this is a deeply sensitive topic. To be clear: I hold no judgment toward mothers who have made this choice. My criticism is directed at the abortion industry, the “big pharma,” and Planned Parenthood, which preys on young women who are scared. To this industry, these women are not people but paychecks and quotas for research funding. We must remember the stern warning in Matthew 18:6, where Jesus says it would be better to have a millstone hung around one’s neck and be drowned in the sea than to cause a “little one” to stumble.
Protecting children is a priority that comes directly from the top. When we choose to value life, we align ourselves with the belief that every individual has a divinely ordained purpose.
What truly matters is every life!
Reflecting on my own story, had my mother been a different type of person, without her faith or strong will, she could have easily been like so many other young, impressionable mothers and been pressured into the doctor’s recommendation. At that point, I would have been reduced to a laboratory specimen. Her refusal was not just a personal choice, but an act of resistance against a large and financially thriving system that has already killed a large portion of the population, not just here in the United States but all over the world.
The staggering $3.25 billion, which is the best estimation I can come up with, generated by the approximately 50 million procedures that have occurred since the 1980s, unveils an industry that is financially thriving on the termination of the most vulnerable. Who really knows how much income is derived from this industry? Nevertheless, when we allow a child’s life to be reduced to $65.00, we do more than just fund research; we are a society on the brink of God’s divine judgment. This isn’t just about politics or “big pharma”; it is about the human dignity of life and how that transcends the influence of every lobbyist or Hollywood celebrity.
Ultimately, the warning Christ the Lord has said about the millstone around the neck serves as a reminder of what He thinks about the abortion industry. By standing for the unborn, we honor God and affirm that every life matters!
